The Sonning Festival takes place every 2 years and kicks off with the Regatta, which is due to be run on Saturday 2nd June 2012. The festival consists of a series of events organised over the Bank Holiday and promises to be a fun filled weekend for all the family with a Royal Diamond Jubilee theme!

JUBILEE REGATTA - Sat 2nd June 2010
Following the success of what has become a biennial event since 2002, the Regatta will again be held on the Oxfordshire bank of the river opposite Blue Coat School boat house just upstream of Sonning Lock. A ferry will operate from this point, alternatively limited parking is available on site. A range of adult and children’s events will be held – no experience necessary. Plenty of refreshments available, bring a picnic and keep fingers crossed for the weather again.

MUSIC EVENING – Event TBC

So come and enjoy an elegant evening picnic in the grounds of Bishop's Close a unique residence on a historic site in the heart of Sonning which has been made available for an evening of sociability and live entertainment by kind invitation from Mr & Mrs M McNeil. Bring your own picnic and chairs/rugs only. Gazebos by arrangement when buying your ticket - limited plots available. Please note that no refunds will be made in the event of bad weather. Dress: Black Tie.

VILLAGE STREET PARTY - Sun 3rd June 2012 A traditional village street party lunch to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee with family and friends.
SCARECROWS – Mon 4th & Tue 5th June 2012
The scarecrows have become an extremely popular village event. Expect to see some old friends and some new faces spread throughout the village in a variety of situations. GARDENS OPEN – Mon 4th & Tue 5th June 2012 A number of superb Sonning gardens will once again be open to view thanks to the generosity of our green fingered villagers. Lunches and teas will be available in Pearson Hall and in the St. Sarik Room. Tickets available on the day.

ST ANDREW'S CHURCH FLOWER FESTIVAL – Mon 4th & Tue 5th June 2012 Please take the time to visit St Andrews Church which has been bedecked with wonderful flower arrangements prepared by the Sonning Flower Club.
